You keep the boots you already work in.
Your job picks the shoes. Work boots. Safety shoes. Farm boots. That does not change because a brace showed up.
The hard hospital brace is too big. It will not go in those boots. The cheap strap from the internet hooks onto laces and dies in a week.
This one is simpler.
Slide the soft sleeve on over your sock.
Press the strap shut.
Turn the dial until your toes sit level.
Put your own work boot on over it.

Tie the boot. Then stand up.
A boot that only closes on a table is not a fit.
Put it on. Do the laces. Stand on the real floor, yard, warehouse, van step. Take one step.
If it splits when you stand, it does not fit.
